Sullivan Phillips and his German National Basketball Pro League A Division leaders BG Goettingen managed to deliver another win to remain on top of the standings with a 88 – 85 win over eighth place Jena.
Phillips struggled from the field on the night, but was able to use his defensive skills to help his team win.
Goettingen who were on the road held a 27 – 23 lead at the end of the first quarter, they then outscored host 26 – 15 in the second quarter to lead 53 – 38 at the half.
The host fought back in the second half winning the third quarter 25 – 21, as Goettingen led 74 – 63 after three, the host then scored 22 points in the final quarter and restricted the visitors to 14 points, however Goettingen had enough of a lead to hold on to the win.
Phillips scored 5 points in 32 minutes of action, going 1 for 5 from the Field and 1 for 33 from behind the Three Point Line.
Phillips grabbed 3 Rebounds to go along with 5 Assists.
