The 49th edition of the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship continued at the Biltmore Golf Course in Florida.
England’s Patrick Kelly maintained his overnight lead in the Boys Division after the second round adding a solid 3-under par 68 to his opening 65, California’s Corey Pereira vaulting into solo second spot with a 7-birdie 66 for 134.
After spending three hours in hospital care yesterday for severe conjunctivitis and nosebleeds, 18-year old Kelly wasn’t even sure he would be able to see well enough to continue, but when he opened his round with three consecutive Birdies he put his blurry eyesight out of mind.
Campbell shot an second round 3-over par 74 and moved up one spot from his T46th starting position to T45th.
Campbell shot 4 Birdies, 7 Pars and 7 Bogey’s in his round.
Campbell started out on the front nine with back to back Birdies, following a Par on the par 4 third, Campbell had another Birdie on the par 4 fourth. Campbell moved his round to 4-under par after seven holes after recording a Birdie on the par 4 seventh, however from there things went downhill.
Campbell closed out his front nine with back to back Bogey’s making the turn at 2-under par.
On the back nine Campbell started out with a Bogey on the 10th, which was followed by back to back Pars, Campbell then had a Bogey on the par 4 thirteenth, par 3 fourteenth and par 5 fifteenth, Campbell also had a Bogey on the par 4 seventeenth.
