Day 1 - Orange Bowl International

The Coral Reef Yacht Club Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta got underway on the waters off the Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami, Florida.

Owen Siese started the Regatta in fine fashion winning the first Laser Radial Fleet Race, however he was ruled On the Course Side at the start of the second race to end the day 47th overall with 124 points.

Four races were sailed on day One in the optimist Green Fleet with Micah Raynor leading the Bermuda Fleet thus far with 92 points and is in 20th place. Raynor recorded finishes of 21st, 8th, 27th and 37th in the days racing.

With 137 points Nasojay Hall is in 32nd place, crossing the line in 42nd, 24th, 30th and 41st, two places back is Nasojah Hall, with 139 points this after finishes of 16th, 36th, 41st and 46th. Liam Perry ended the day in 55th place overall with 209 points.

Only one race was completed in the Optimist Red, Blue and White Fleets, Chase Cooper won the lone Red Fleet Race, Ceci Wollmann finished 5th in the same Fleet, Mikey Wollmann finished 7th sailing in the Blue Fleet, while George Buckley finished 93rd in the Blue Fleet Class.

Peter Dill is 105th in the Red Fleet after finishing 36th, while Benn Smith competing in the same Fleet also finished 36th and is tied with Dill. Matilda Nicholls finished 37th in the Blue Fleet and is 108th, James Amaral is in 117th in the Red Fleet with a 40th place finish and Joe Arrowsmith is currently 120th after finishing 40th in the Blue Fleet.
