In the final match-up of the 2012 Dartmouth Fall Classic, Robbie Maycock and his 8th ranked Dartmouth Men’s Squash teammates fell to No. 7 Franklin & Marshall, 5-4.
After three straight wins to start on their home courts inside the Berry Sports Center, Dartmouth were unable to overcome timely play by the visitors in the middle matches, suffering their second setback of the season.
Maycock went down in four sets to Mauricio Sedano 11-7, 7-11, 11-7, 11-3.
Chris Jung and Bayard Kuensell started the day off on a strong note for Dartmouth with consecutive victories. Kuensell's five-game thriller with Sujat Barua had the crowd on its feet in anticipation of every point as the sophomore from Haverford, Pa., edged out the visiting competitor, 13-11, in the decisive game to take the match.
After Franklin & Marshall had sealed the win with it's fifth individual victory of the day, Dartmouth's Alex Kurth and Chris Hanson took care of their own business for match wins.
The team will now head off on its Winter Training Trip before returning to regular season and Ivy League play in mid-January against Princeton and Penn.
