The Bermuda Bicycle Association (BBA) are building on the success of last year, and hope to bring you another great race season.

The BBA are introducing three new venues and one new racing format to challenge riders, they also have a new lead sponsor, and are pleased to announce that Bicycle Works has stepped forward to support the cause, along with co-sponsors Winners Edge, Madison Business Consultants, and Tokio Millennium Re Ltd.

The Bicycle Works Mountain Bike Race Series, sanctioned through the Bermuda Bicycle Association, will consist of eight race and three specialty events, this does not include the National Championship, which is hosted by the Bermuda Bicycle Association.

The BBA will do a best 6 of 8 series using the same point structure as last year.

With more and more riders enjoying the sport of Mountain Bike riding, it was felt it was important to expand on the awesome inventory of race tracks, both to encourage more riders to participate, but also to take riders to places they might never otherwise see.

So this year the BBA have secured the use of three new tracks, Race 5 of the series will take place at Casemates and the National Museum of Bermuda, this venue will give riders the opportunity to race through some of Bermuda's oldest and most historical buildings.

Also in the west end, the BBA are pleased to add Bermuda's newest park as Race 8 of the series with the introduction of Lodge Point Park. Although a fairly flat track, Lodge Point Park offers riders some cool vistas and challenging features. To totally mix up the season the BBA are running a new race format on a new track.

The BBA will be hosting a 4X Eliminator race at the original home of off-road racing in Bermuda, Coney Island. For those of you not familiar with a 4X event, the race will comprise of four riders completing one lap around the track, with the top two advancing to the next round.
