A sport that is ignored by most media in Bermuda will be in the spot light in the next few days, as softball players turned up to play their regularly scheduled games at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond last night, only to find the gates locked and a notice posted stating the Ball Park is closed until further notice.
It is understood the facility has been closed due to non-payment by the Commercial Summer League. The Diamond was closed down by the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation. Softball teams are not sure when or if they will continue their season, or even get their play-offs played.
