Alexis Bean’s and her St. John’s University Women’s Cross Country teammates 2012 season came to a close as a shorthanded St. John’s squad battled to a 12th-place finish at the ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
St. John's was without senior Bean and freshmen Ashlin Conroy and Veronica Thompson due to injuries and illness.
St. John's finished with an average 5K time of 20:05.12 and place four runners in the top-100. St. John's totaled 317 team points, just 13 behind 11th place Towson. The 12th-place finish was a two spot improvement from last year's 14th-place mark.
Chelsea Trant was the standout performer for St. John's as her 22nd place finish overall earned her All-East Honors. Trant led St. John's for the second-straight race, as she ran a 5K time of 19:12.1.
