The week long tournament has taken it’s toll on the these two teams, as it took thirty minutes for the first Try as Sebastian Bozzi went over to give France the lead and when Cedric Rosalen kicked the Conversion he made the score 7 – 0.

In the 48th minute a drop goal from Frenchman Frank Comba made the score 10-0 in favor of France and then Greg Tutard broke away in the middle of the field and scored France's second Try of the game and when Bozzi kicked the Conversion he moved the score to 17-0.

Neither team would score for the remainder of the game as France lifted the Plate Trophy.

The World Rugby Classic was then set with Australia bidding to win the trophy for the first time on the events 25 year history.

After sustaining several minutes of pressure Norman Jordan on their first attack of the game in the 20th minute went over for a Try and gave South Africa the 5-0 lead, Neil Cole missed the conversion.

The fans would have to wait until the 41st minute before they would witness another Try, Damon Murphy went over for Australia to level the score and with the missed conversion the score remained 5-5.

A burst of speed from Murphy three minutes later saw him give Australia the lead, the Conversion was good from Andrew Jones extending the Australia lead to 12-5.

With some two minutes remaining on the referee’s watch Nick Reilly kicked a penalty for Australia as they earned a 15-5 win and the World Rugby Classic Title in the tournaments 25th year.
