Benn Smith sailed to victory in the Digicel 2012 Bermuda Optimist Open National Championship after three days of racing in the Great Sound.
Smith finished the fifteen race series with 41 Net Points, Smith only recorded one win in the regatta, but he only finished outside the top seven once and that was in the final race of the series where he finished 14th.
Peter Dill finished second overall with 47 net points, Dill recorded 6 wins in the regatta, but he also had finishes of 9th, 16th, 28th, 5th, On the Course Side, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Chase Cooper finished in third with 51 net points, Cooper never finished outside the top 9 in the regatta that also included 2 first place finishes.
