Emotion were high at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street on Sunday as Hedemon was making his first appearance on the Track since a fire back on January 27th killed three of his stable mates.
Many was hoping for a good performance from Hedemon with Kentwoin Jones in the bike, however in Heat 8 the 1:07/2 – 1:08/2 Time Bar race Hedemon on the second lap went off the track and crashed into an embankment along the track.
Hedemon and Jones were positioned in third place, as fans and other drivers looked on, drivers anticipating the crash ran to the aid of both driver and pony with the crowd looking on in hope that both would be OK.
After a few minutes both driver and pony rose their feet and made their way back to their station around the track before being looked over by medical staff.
