Jennifer Chisnall, Heather Sinclair and their University of Western Women’s Field Hockey teammates travelled to York University for their second-last weekend of league play for a game against the Waterloo Warriors.
Western sought revenge against Waterloo for a loss earlier in the season. Third-year forward Katelynn Roganowicz put Western on the scoreboard early in the first half off of a series of passes following a short corner. Neither team was able to find the net in the remainder of the half, sending Western to the break with a 1-0 lead.
The second half was again a defensive battle, however Jessica Crawford potted the lone goal of the second half to give Western a 2-0 victory. Along with the two goals solid defence by veterans Karly Bryson and Katie Feagan in the backfield and fantastic goalkeeping from Bethan Blackburn secured the shut out for Western.
