Hollis Records Assist on Winning Goal

IslandStats.com
Freshman Kimberly Sportack scored on a Penalty Corner with time expired as Jessica Hollis and the No. 17th ranked University of Richmond won its seventh-straight game, a 1-0 win over Saint Joseph's 1-0.

Despite out-shooting Saint Joseph's 21-3, the game was scoreless when Richmond were awarded a penalty corner with under a minute remaining. Time expired before Richmond inserted the corner, but under field hockey rules a corner awarded before time expires is allowed to be completed.

Junior Hollis took a shot that was deflected by sophomore Rebecca Barry and Sportak was there for the rebound, scoring her first-career goal and giving Richmond their seventh win in as many games at home.

For the second-straight game, Richmond dominated the game, but scored just one goal. Richmond's defense rarely allowed Saint Joseph's into its end of the field. Richmond goalkeeper Anna Zarkoski made one save for her fifth shutout in the last six games and the 14th of her career.
