In the first game of the day saw the Marlins defeated the Tigers 5-4 in the morning game.
The second game had the Phillies defeating the Giants 15-4 to take sole possession of first place. It was a close game through four innings with strong pitching from Mateo Rodriguez for the Giants with an equaling strong performance from Owen Neal for the Phillies. The Phillies exploded for 7 runs in the fifth and another five in the 6th. Giants kept it close early with strong defensive plays by Nicholas Martin.
Rookies (7-9 year olds)
The Phillies claimed the regular season title by defeating the Orioles 7-4. James Ives III led the Phillies attack with 2 Doubles and solid defensive playing first base. Gabe Bloxom and Armand Foy each had a key hit for the Phillies and played good defense all game. Somers Mello, Oscar Lindsey and Brett Baumgartner each contributed to hits. The Orioles were led by Echo Valdes who had two hits and some great plays on the field. Jadan Malpas and Alexander Southern made solid contributions as well.
The Tigers clinched the 3rd seed of the tournament with a win 8-7 over the Giants. Players of the game for the Tigers were Kieran Kimberly and Jordan Trimarchi who teamed up to push across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Giants were once again led by Ryan Clements.
The Red Sox showed up hitting to stop their 3 game slide with a win over the Marlins 12-4. Solid Defense by Jannis Roberts, Matt Ingleman and Sam Resnik, assisted by key hits Aaron White and Max Mcrimmon. The Marlins were led by Ryan Mullen and Aaron Paynter.
