Stephen Dickinson and Pat Young sailed away from the Fleet to win the Annual Flag Pole to Flag Pole Comet Race.
Right from the start Dickinson picked a good line and sailed to the front of the fleet, reigning Edward Cross Long Distance race Champion Rockal Evans and his crew Benn Smith got the best jump at the start, but they was ruled over the start line before the horn and had to go back to the start line, this allowed Dickinson and Young to really pull away from the fleet.
Going out of the Hamilton Harbor, Tre Joinville and his crew Peter Mcglashan followed Dickinson, with Dale Brangman and his crew Shawn Smith in third, however by the time the boats had made their way down the North Shore and into the St. George’s Harbor things had changed dramatically, other than Dickinson and Young crossing the line first in a time of 2:10.15, Gladwin Lambert and his crew Greg Proctor finished second and Evans and Smith finished third.
