Both North Village Lady Rams teams participated in a Friendly Mini Netball Tournament at Copsewood Social Club in London and coach Stacy Grant said, “We were pleased to have a few Bermudian spectators who live nearby stopping for a while to give support.”
Grant said, “The girls were allowed to participate in a training session with a Netball Academy coach which was very well received by our girls. They trained with the Copsewood team and received many compliments on their athletic abilities.”
The Lady Rams Under 12 team won their first game against Highway Netball Club 4 -0 and lost 4 -1 to Copsewood Netball Club, they then drew 3 – 3 with Harbury Netball Club. The Player of the Week for the Under 12s was awarded to Beyonce Berkeley.
The Lady Rams Under 14’s lost 4 -7 to Harbury Netball Club, lost 6 -4 to Highway Netball Club and lost 13 - 0 to Copsewood Netball Club. The Player of the week for the U14s was awarded to Zariah Amory.
“Both teams played well with many interceptions but were unfortunate not to score when the ball got into the shooters' circle. The unbearably cold weather may have had a little to do with this,” continued Grant.
Grant concluded, “This tour has increased the friendship and team spirit of the North Village Lady Rams Under 12 and Under 14 Netball teams and has fostered a friendship with Coventry Netball Association with the help of Annette Mirfield and we hope to be able to reciprocate their hospitality in the near future.”
