Marlins are Senior League Champions

Coach Derek Anderson's Marlins are the 2011 YAO Senior League Champions, with the championship on the line, the players & coaches having given it their all for the entire season, this was it.

In the YAO Senior League Championship game the Marlins got on the board first in the 1st inning when KJ Moreno hit a triple to right-center field and Kneiko Richardson followed with a double at the YAO Senior League Ball Park.

The Orioles came right back though scoring 4 runs off the Marlins starting pitcher, Michael Betteto. Scott Hendrick was the biggest contributor for the Orioles in those two innings, with 2 runs-batted-in and he himself scored a run.

Orioles pitcher Conor Lohan pitched exceptionally well through the first four innings recording 5 strikeouts. Marlins pitcher Michael Betteto also recorded 5 strikeouts through 3 innings.

The Marlins and Orioles went back and forth in the game as the score was 1-1 after 2 innings, 4-2 after 3 innings, 6-4 after 4 innings and 8-8 going into the bottom of the 7th inning.

Orioles' pitcher Bruce Sandham got Shemar Rawlins to ground out and then struck out Riley McNeil. With 2 outs in the inning, Jaylen Martin hit a single to left field. Following that, KJ Moreno was hit by a pitch and Kneiko Richardson was intentionally walked. 2 outs, bases load, the score tied and the Kyle Trott to bat...

Sandham's first pitch was a ball. His second pitch gets by the catcher Scott Hendrick and Jaylen Martin running home was safe and the Marlins Win.
