Jamere Griffin, a former native of Bermuda, who has resided in Gulfport, Mississippi for the past seven years played for D’Iberville Warriors High School Varsity Baseball team defeated Poplarville 7 - 6 in a non-league game.
Griffin and D’Ibervilla are now have a 1-6 record. D’Ibervilla went ahead in the bottom of the first 1 – 0, but Poplarville scored three round in the top of the second. D’Ibervilla scored two runs in the bottom of the second to level the score, both team scored a run in the fourth innings, before Poplarville scored one more in the top of the sixth, D’Iberville answered with two runs during the bottom half of the inning to take a 6 – 5 lead.
In the top of the seventh and final inning Poplarville scored a run to tie the scores at 6 – 6, but D’Ibervilla scored their winning run in the bottom half of the inning for the win. Griffin went 0 for 1 in the game.
