Khano Smith and the New England Revolution takes aim at adding another trophy to the team’s collection on Wednesday, Sept. 1, when the team hosts Mexico’s Monarcas Morelia in the SuperLiga 2010 Championship match.
It’s the first of two matches for the club this week, as a league match against Seattle Sounders FC follows on Saturday, Sept. 4. Both matches will be played at Gillette Stadium.
Wednesday’s match against Monarcas Morelia is another opportunity for the Revolution to add to its trophy case, already the SuperLiga 2008 champions, the Revs also won the 2007 U.S. Open Cup and a victory on Wednesday night would give the Revs their third tournament championship in club history.
The 2010 season marks the third straight year in which the Revolution has participated in SuperLiga, already owning the tournament’s best-ever record (8-1-4) and winning percentage (.769), the Revs will look to become the tournament’s first-ever two-time winner on Wednesday night.
