Bermuda Go Down in Florida
University of Tampa 8 Bermuda Women’s Senior Academy 1

Bermuda Women’s Senior Academy playing their second match during their Ten Day International Friendly tour went down 8 – 1 to their Division II opponents.

As Head Coach Jeremy Salaam stressed during the press conference prior to the team departing, the purpose for this international friendly is to gauge a better understanding for our Women’s international competition.

The University of Tampa women’s team jumped out to an early lead over a young and inexperienced Academy team and never looked back.

Down 5 – 0 the Bermuda Women’s Senior Academy team’s hard work and never say die attitude paid off when Keunna Dill scored to make it 5 – 1.

The Bermuda Women’s Senior Academy team then pinned their opponents in their half for a long period but were unable to score as the University of Tampa scored three more goals on the counter attack.

Salaam said, “I was pleased with the effort the ladies put in at times as some of the players are playing at the level for the first time, the facility is one that would allow for flowing football to be played and at times we showed we can play, they at time struggled to contain Shuntae Todd, while they also found it difficult to deal with Dill’s pace as well.”

“I am glad that the ladies are getting this chance to experience this, when we get back we can really access were we are and what needs to be done to move forward,” concluded Salaam.
