Damian Palanyandi is crowned 5th Annual Blackie Talbot Junior Classic champion after leading the tournament for three straight days. Palanyandi continued his fine form into the final round by posting a 76 giving him a 3 day total of 10 over par, 221 to win the by 8 shots. Ryan Benevides applied plenty of pressure but could only manage an 80 today good enough to stay in second place. Benevides finished on 18 over, 229. Ryan Roberts finished 3rd on 20 over par, 231.
16-18 Division – Net
Ralph Peterson, South Easton, Massachusetts claimed the net prize with a 21 over par 232.
13-15 Division – Gross
Andrea De Bono from Basiglio, Italy fires a second consecutive 2 over par 72 to capture the 13-15 division title. De Bono finished with a 3 day total of 220, 9 over par, four shots better than Sean Boyle, Catonsville, Maryland who finished with a 73 giving him a 3 day total of 224, 13 over par. Sean Trainor, White Plains, NY finished in third place on 231, 20 over par.
13-15 Division – Net
Matthew Smith blew the field in the net division finishing with a 13 under 57 giving him a whopping 37 under par total of 174. In second place was Kari Place on 16 under, 195.
Boys 12 & Under
Justin Stagg from White Plains, NY wins his division with his steady play all week. Justin posted his highest score of the tournament 83 but still comfortably won by 7 shots finishing with a three day total 239, 28 over par. Cameron Chottiner, USA finished in second place on 246, 35 over par and Thomas Allkins, Bermuda in third on 257, 46 over par.
Girls Open Division
Zayla Smith won the girls open division by two shots over Elizabeth Parsons in a hotly contested competition. Smith finished on 297 while Parsons finished on 299 for three rounds. Lydia Barit playing in her first event finished third.
Novice 9 Hole Division
Jonathan Diforio from White Plains, NY posted another 45 for 9 holes giving him a 3 day total of 29 over par, 135 and a whopping 21 shots over his nearest rival, Bermudian, Zion Dowling who finished on 50 over, 156 securing 2nd place. Dakota Lamb, Bermuda takes 3rd place honors with a finishing total of 161, 55 over par.
