Making valuable contributions to the communities in which we operate is a cornerstone of Butterfield’s mission statement.
And I know I speak for all Butterfield’s employees when I say how tremendously proud we are of the contributions we have made to the community.
But having been good corporate citizens in Bermuda for 152 years, we realize that we could hardly have made a greater contribution to the Bermudian community than to help celebrate the incredible skills of one of our Cup Match cricketers.”
Black Star Communications President Rolfe Commissiong said, “I would like to thank Butterfield Bank for sponsoring the Safe Hands Award for the fourth year in a row, the Safe Hands Award is now in its 13th year.
Meanwhile Dennis Wainwright standing in for Calvin Symonds said, “Watching Leverock take that catch was amazing, I told someone after watching Lionel Cann take a catch on the first day, it would take a special catch to beat that one. Leverock took a catch only he could take snatching that ball out of the air with one hand even with the wicketkeeper coming across blinding him for a split second.”
Leverock in addition to winning the Calvin “Bummy” Symonds Cup, Leverock received a $1,000.00 cash prize, two round trip tickets to one of the gateway cities, new playing kit and dinner for two at Greg’s Steakhouse.
