Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Racing took place in the St. George’s Harbor, the days three races were makeup races from May 24th. Contest III with skipper Somers Kempe sailed away in the Heritage Trophy race right from the start. Contest III made the first turn ahead of the fleet and after surviving the tricky part of hoisting the spinnaker they opened an even bigger gap, all this while Challenger II with Martin Siese at the Helm sank after rounding the first mark.

As the race continued, Victory IV with Mark Soares worked to hold off Tim Lynch sailing Elizabeth II, the two boats battled around the third mark separarted by only a few boat lengths but Lynch could not keep the Elizabeth II upright as they turned over and sank in the area of Challenger II. As the two crews remained in the water Contest III sailed away with the victory, their first of three on the day, with Victory IV finishing 2nd.
