Terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 has confirmed that it will screen four highlights programmes of the British Basketball double headers which form part of the Standard Life Game On 2010 EuroBasket qualifying for both the GB Standard Life Men's and Jenaya Wade-Fray’s Women's teams.

Channel 4 is the only terrestrial broadcaster in the UK to offer a time-shift variant of its main channel.

The featured games will be Wade-Fray and her GB Women teammates when they take on Slovakia and GB Men v Ukraine from the NIA in Birmingham and then Wade-Fray and her GB Women teammates when they take on Germany and GB Men v Bosnia & Hergovina from the Liverpool Echo Arena.

The one hour highlights programmes will be broadcast on four consecutive Sunday's starting on 22 August at 7am, with the subsequent shows starting at 7.30am, 7.00am and 8.00am.

James Tombs, Head of Commercial & Business Operations at British Basketball is delighted that Channel 4 has agreed to broadcast highlights of the double headers:

"To get the support of a major broadcaster like Channel 4 is great for the sport. We have worked with Channel 4 before so it was the obvious platform and partner for what should be a feast of basketball. This is the first time that British Basketball has staged double headers so it will generate a lot of interest in both the men's and women's games as well as producing some compelling TV viewing."

Sagina Shabaya, Deputy Commissioning Editor, Off-Peak Programming at Channel 4 is excited about international basketball being on Channel 4:

"We showed the GB EuroBasket qualifying games in 2008 and received some fantastic ratings, so it seemed logical that we would get involved again this year. The standard of basketball will be of the highest order, so our viewers will get to see some of the best players GB has to offer, including an NBA star and players who play at the highest level in mainland Europe."

Both the Standard Life Men's and Women's teams will be hoping to qualify for the 2011 EuroBasket Finals 2011 which will be held in Lithuania and Poland respectively.
