BPGA Pro Tour
Port Royal was the host of the latest Jack Daniels Golf Tour event, and Port Royal's reputation of being the hardest course on the island was proven yet to be true, with the islands pro's struggling on the new layout.
The favorite Scott Roy struggling with 6 double bogey's never really got going after making a 6 to start his round, and Daniel Augustus while coming in 3rd place, would have thought that he would have done better than a 79.
It was Paul Adams, Head Professional at Tucker's Point that played the best, despite missing a few short putts and making a nervy triple bogey on the last, which still gave him a 4 shot winning margin.
Adams said "My new Callaway FTi Tour driver has given me an extra 10 yards and that really makes a difference at long course like Port Royal", "I was disappointed to make a 7 on the last, as it turned out I could have made a 10 and still won!", "I had it to 2 under after 11 and it is a shame that I could not keep it going and post a really good score."
Bobby MacRonald, showed the younger guys how to play Port Royal, with creditable 78, which at the age of 60 years old is an impressive feat on a long course like Port Royal.
Eric West made his debut on the tour, but due to injury he has not played for at least a month, and the rust will need a few weeks to be shaken off.
