Bermuda Bicycle Association President Peter Dunne has confirmed to www.islandstats.com that Bermuda will not be represented at the CAC Games in the sport of Cycling.
Two athletes Geri Mewett and Mark Hatherley had been chosen to represent Bermuda in Puerto Rico, however do to unforeseen issues the team had to pull out due to work committeemen’s.
Dunne said, “The Bermuda Bicycle Association I disappointed that we are in this position but given the level of competition it did not make sense to send just one representative. We will now refocus our efforts on the Elite Caribbean Cycling Championships which will be held in Guadeloupe this October. A training squad has already formed and from this group we will select our national representatives.”
Cycling at the CAC Games is schedule to take place July 22nd and July 28th.
