Team Origin’s Ben Ainslie (GBR), the 2009 Argo Group Gold Cup champion, has now confirmed his entry to defend his title in the October 5th World Match Racing Tour event in Hamilton, Bermuda. Ainlsie, the three time Olympic gold medal winner and winner of one silver, too, took the 2009 finals 3-1 over Adam Minoprio. He etched his name on the coveted King Edward VII Gold Cup Trophy along with a host of match race sailing legends. Can he make it two in a row in Hamilton Harbour October 5th – 10th.

Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship

Youth sailors Jason Saints (Laser Radial) and his coach Pablo Weber, James Anfossi and Jordan Saints (420) departed Bermuda this morning for Istanbul, Turkey to participate in the Volvo Youth Worlds. Anfossi and Saints were lucky enough to be awarded coaching provided by ISAF via the Athlete Participation Program.

The world’s top youth sailors are putting the final touches to their preparation for the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship which takes place from 8 – 17 July in Istanbul, Turkey.

There will be a record attendance at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship 2010, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year in Istanbul. A total of 344 sailors, 251 boats from 63 countries are registered to compete in the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships 2010. The event has been held in 23 countries over the past 40 years, but it is the first time Istanbul has hosted the championship.
