The LF Wade International Airport was a buzz for the second night in a row, one night after two Sports brought back Medals and Trophies, the Bermuda Track and Field returned from the CAC Junior Championships with 4 medals from the 16 athletes.
Shaquille Dill who won the Boy’s Under 20 800 meter race in a time of 1:52.92 brought a Gold Medal back to these shore for the first time in a very long time in the sport of Track and Field.
Jeneko Place had Two Medals around his neck, Place competed in the Finals of the Boy’s Under 17 200m finished 2nd to capture a Silver Medal to go along with the Bronze Medal he won in the Boy’s Under 17 100 meter Finals with a time of 11.02.
Henry Stevens-Carty finished second behind Dill in the Boy’s Under 20 800 meter race in a time of 1:53.74.
Donna Watson President of the Bermuda Track and Field Association along with other officials, family and friends all gathered at the Airport to greet all the athletes, coach Mike Watson said, “I believe the athletes handle the condition very well, although it was hot we performed very well, I was indeed happy to see DillSteven-Carty run extremely well, while I continue to be impressed by Place.”
