Optimist Championships Update

The final day of the North American Optimist Championships hosted by the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Association (CODA) and CORK, going on in Kingston, Ontario, Canada saw Bermuda’s Sam Stan fall from fifth to fourteenth place overall.

Sailing in the Red Fleet Stan did not have a top ten finish in any of the three races, in the first race of the day Stan finished twenty-fourth, before finishing thirtieth in the second race. Stan then finished eighteenth in the third race to finish the Regatta with 89 points.

Ellie Wollmann had finishes of 24th place in the first two races and 10th to finish with an overall total of 230 points in the White Fleet and 82nd overall, while Antonio Bailey had finishes of 29th, 28th and 27th in the Yellow Fleet to finish in 114th place with 316 points.

Makai Joell finished 120th overall following finishes of 30th, 30th and 37th sailing in the Blue Fleet with an overall total of 329 points, while Michael Barit had finishes of 25th, 35th and 56th also sailing in the Yellow Fleet finishing 125th overall with 340 points.

Ceci Wollmann sailing in the Green Fleet finished with 388 points to finish in 139th place, while Rory Caslin finished in 151st overall sailing in the Blue Fleet finished with 415 points, Ferdinand Arnold finished in 157th overall having a total of 443 points in the Pink Fleet, Mickey Wollmann had 504 points sailing in the Green Fleet to finish 171st overall and Hannah Horsefield has 513 points in the White Fleet finishing 176th overall.
