Stan 4th in Optimist Championships

Day 5 of the North American Optimist Championships hosted by the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Association (CODA) and CORK, going on in Kingston, Ontario, Canada saw Bermuda’s Sam Stan move up from fifth to fourth place overall.

Sailing in the Red Fleet Stan had another excellent day with two top ten finishes, in the first race of the day Stan finished tenth, before finishing seventeenth in the second race. Stan then won the third race to finish the day with 54 points.

Ellie Wollmann had finishes of 23rd, 22nd and 21st to finish the day with an overall total of 227 points in the White Fleet and is 90th overall, while Antonio Bailey had finishes of 38th, 38th and 48th in the Yellow Fleet to finish in 121st place with 279 points. Michael Barit had finishes of 37th, 67th and 31st also sailing in the Yellow Fleet finishing the day 122nd overall with 285 points and Makai Joell finished the day 123rd overall following finishes of 31st, 24th and 42nd sailing in the Blue Fleet with an overall total of 285 points.

Ceci Wollmann sailing in the Green Fleet finished the day with 308 points and sits in 134th place, while Rory Caslin is 151st overall sailing in the Blue Fleet finished with 345 points, with Ferdinand Arnold currently in 152nd overall having a total of 353 points in the Pink Fleet, Mickey Wollmann has 398 points sailing in the Green Fleet to finish the day 167th overall and Hannah Horsefield has 444 points in the White Fleet finishing 187th overall.
