The First Round of the Central Counties Cup Competition will be played on Saturday, July 3rd 2010 at St. Johns Field starting at 11:00a.m.
The match will feature the champions Devonshire Recreation Club taking on challengers Young Men Social Club.
Back on July 11th, 2009 Devonshire Recreation Club won the title with a 4 wicket win over the Police Recreation Club. On that day player/coach Ricky Brangman was the star having bowling figures of 10-1-37-3 in helping to bowl Police all out for 170 and then Brangman scored 40 runs.
Bermuda U19 Squad Announced for the Sir Garfield Sobers Tour
The Bermuda Cricket Board announced that the following squad has been selected to participate in the 2010 Sir Garfield Sobers Tournament, July 5 - 23, 2010 in Barbados. This is the fifth year that a Bermuda U19 squad has taken part in this tournament which gives the players an opportunity to travel throughout Barbados and to compete at the highest level in their age-group. It is a great opportunity for them to see the island's many cricket venues and compete against local and other visiting sides from all over the world.

The U19’s begin their preparation for the 2011 America's U19 Regional Tournament and U19 World Cup Qualifiers by participating in the Sir Garfield Sobers Tournament from July 5 - July 23. The team will play in Group A against Phoenix Academy (Barbados), St. Clair Dacon School (St.Vincent), Xenon Academy (Guyana), Bequia Community High School, Queens Park Club (Trinidad), Dulwich College (UK), BCL (Barbados) and Dominica Combined Schools with the winner of Group A going on to play the winner of Group B.
Arnold Manders, Director of Cricket Development said, "This team is a very talented bunch of individuals that are extremely young (average age being just over 15 years of age). They will be relying heavily on the experienced players such as captain Kevon Fubler (18), Deunte Darrell (17), both senior national team player Joshua Gilbert (16) and Greg Maybury (16) will join the team late, Gilbertwill be late due to his playing commitments for the National Team in the I-Shield Game v UAE, while Maybury is playing for Oakham College."
Manders concluded, "The team contains an abundance of all-rounders that possess a great amount of ability and the bowling attack contains a great variety of spinners and medium pace bowlers. It is hoped that within the next year that this team will seriously contend for a players at the U19 World Cup in 2012."
