Day 1 - Optimist Dinghy Championships

The North American Optimist Championships hosted by the Canadian Optimist Dinghy Association (CODA) and CORK, got underway in Kingston, Ontario, Canada with the Bermuda Sailors performing well.

Sailing in the Red Fleet in a nice breeze at 14 - 16 knots and generally good sailing weather Sam Stan had an excellent day with a second place finish in the first race of the day, before finishing fourth in the second race. Stan then finished tenth in the third race to finished the day fifth overall with 16 points.

Michael Barit had finishes of 23rd, 20th and 48th in the Yellow Fleet finishing the day with 94 points, in the Blue Fleet Makai Joell finished 30th, 27th and 39th to finish with 96 points.

Ceci Wollmann sailing in the Green Fleet finished the first race in 16th place, however 35th and 57th place finishes saw her finish with 108 points. Also finishing the first day on 108 points was Antonio Bailey, Bailey had finishes of 47th, 24th and 37th in the Yellow Fleet.

Ellie Wollmann finished with 116 in the White Fleet racing, Rory Caslin in the Blue Fleet finished with 122 points, Ferdinand Arnold has 150 points in the Pink Fleet, Hannah Horsefield has 158 points in the White Fleet and Mickey Wollmann has 188 points sailing in the Green Fleet.
