Reuben Bean founded Jiketsu Martial Productions (JMP) in 2004, to promote the ancient discipline of martial arts as an effective and valuable medium of educational and character development for all, officially opened a new martial arts center formally at the Old Berkeley.
Bean during the opening several people including his parents, his partner Laura Bell, whom he said supported him no matter what he came up with, they cut the ribbon with their son Nico.
JMP’s martial arts programs and alchemical healing centre are unconditionally and selflessly committed to assisting all who are ready in learning how to become mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually balanced individuals.
By seeking the perfection of their character, being faithful, endeavoring, respecting others and refraining from violent behavior, JMP facilitates the practitioner in understanding the various mysteries of martial arts, life and enlightenment.
Ultimately, Jiketsu Martial Productions endeavors to encourage its students to seek and maintain a level of equanimity—whether it be in martial arts or in life—so that they may effectively learn how to “Chop Wood and Carry Water.”
