Michael Sims will make his long awaited return to the Nation Wide Tour during this week’s $525,000.00 Fort Smith Classic at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Sims has not played on the Nation Wide Tour since April is currently 177th on the Money List earning $2,143.00 from five tournaments having made the Cut once.
The Fort Smith Classic, the only PGA TOUR event in Arkansas, the event will also see the return to the golf course of John Daly who is quoted on the tournaments website saying "I'm probably going to have a lot more pressure, playing at home. But it's worth it to me. I've played Hardscrabble; I remember playing there a lot of times in qualifying for college tournaments. It's a great golf course and I'm just excited to have a chance to play in my home state."
In 2009 Sims failed to make the cut in the Fort Smith Classic, after he shot a Second Round 3-over par 73.
