Dr. Stephen Sherwin sailed Nasty Medicine to second place in the thirteen-boat IRC 3 Class in the 156th New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta in Newport Rhode Island. He will compete in the Newport Bermuda Race that starts Friday in Newport and then sail in the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club's Anniversary Regatta on June 25th to complete the Onion Patch Series. Twenty-two boats are in the grueling three-event series. After the NYYC event Nasty Medicine is in seventh place.
Vanquish, co-skippered by Buddy Rego and American Russell Lucas, didn't finish in the top three in her class in the NYYC event. However, among the Onion Patch Series boats which are scored as one Vanquish is ex Money Penny, skippered by Lucas in this regatta, is fourth in the series to date. Rego will be aboard for the Newport race and the RBYC regatta on the Great Sound.
