It was the professionals from Tucker’s Point that coped with conditions the best of Paul Adams and Cornell Bean, it was very close coming into the last few holes, with Bean, Adams and Daniel Augustus all within a couple of shots of each other going into the last hole, but the final hole was the scene of drama not seen since Jean Vandevelde lost the British Open 10 years ago.
Bean conspired to take a 9 after finding some tough lies around the green and ruining what had been a fine display of shotmaking for the previous 17 holes, Augustus didn’t do much better after taking an iron for safety finished the hole with a double bogey 6, It was Adams that took the bull by the horns hitting his drive into one of the greenside bunkers from the tee and hitting a magnificent 40 yard bunker shot to 9 feet and coolly slotting the putt for a finishing birdie and a 3 shot margin of victory that really should have been Bean’s.
Adams said “I played very steady and with a new Callaway FT Tour driver, I did not miss a fairway all day”, “Bean played great and I am disappointed for him today, but everyone knows what a great player he is”

The best super senior was Eardley Jones with a fine score of 79, Andrew Bissell Tour Director said ”in addition to the existing order of merit we will have a Super Senior points with a prize for the top 3 super seniors.’
