The Great Britain Standard Life Women's Basketball head coach Tom Maher selected a strong roster that included Jenaya Wade-Fray who will depart Bermuda thus evening for her debut campaign with the senior team as they look to qualify for the Eurobasket Championship which will be held in Poland in 2011.
Wade-Fray known to her friends and teammates as Jay, will spend time in Scotland training before heading to Bulgaria.
Wade-Fray said, “I am really excited about this opportunity to go to Great Britain to try out for the Great Britain Women’s Basketball team, I am looking forward to experiencing life in other countries and playing Basketball”.
Richard North who along with Wade-Fray’s mother Jennifer have been working to secure Wade-Fray’s next move in her Basketball career said, “I am happy that Wade-Fray is going to experience this next chapter in her career, she has done very well for herself thus far”.
Wade-Fray is looking to stay in England after the time spent with the Great Britain team to get her Masters Degree, however the process for her to continue will need support, Wade-Fray is in a position, where she will be considered an Elite Athlete by Great Britain but she will not receive financial support.
