At the BAA Field, visiting Reading United defeated the Bermuda Hogges 1 – 0 on a first half strike from William Schuler. The Hogges knocked the ball about in the first half, but had goalkeeper Freddy Hall to thank for keeping the score 1 – 0. In the first half Hall made six saves, three of them from breakaways.
In the end Reading took 18 shots with Hall making 11 saves in total, while the Hogges took ten shots with the Reading goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo making two saves.
The Hogges came close to equalizing late in the first half when a free kick came crashing back off the crossbar with Vuolo beaten.
