Thirty-six Georgia track and field team members including sophomore Aaron Evans and junior Latroya Darrell have qualified and are traveling to the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Greensboro, N.C., on May 27-29 to earn their spot at the NCAA Championships.
Evans will compete in the 800m and Darrell will compete in the triple jump.
With his teams combining for four individual titles and two fifth-place finishes at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., Georgia head coach Wayne Norton is preparing for his standouts to peak in Greensboro.
“Our teams are ready and will compete hard as they have done for the last year and a half,” said Norton. “I am expecting to come out of the meet with quite a few qualifiers.”
