The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s (BBA) Marquise Cann, Mark Godfrey, Dominique Mayho and Tre-shun Correia concluded racing in Tennessee competing in the Highland Rim Cycling Classic along with Geri Mewett.
The final day of racing was wet (again) but all went well. Cann had a spill early on but just a scrape on the knee. This put him in solo chase mode for the rest of the criterium. Correia slid out on the tough slick corner but only after dragging Godfrey around and allowing him to join the chase group that included Mayho.
Mayho finished 3rd, while Correia was 8th as both competed in the 17/18 age group). Godfrey finished 3rd and Cann finished 14th in 15/16 age group.
Mewett then took to the track and he put on a show of how to ride this race. Mewett sat at the back for dozens of laps and then with 8 to go he just motored his way up towards the front and on the last lap he and his teammate drilled it, shattering the remaining pack and getting the top two places.
