Aaron Evans Broke another Record

Jasmine Brunson
finished 9th in the Long Jump at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a leap of 6.02m. Brunson who is in her freshman year is consistently jumping over 6.0m. Aranxta King placed 2nd in the Long Jump at the PAC 10 Championships with a leap of 6.34m,King also competed in the Triple Jump and jumped a new Bermuda record with 12.93m, while Latroya Darrell finished 4th in the Triple Jump at the SEC Championships with a leap of 12.74m.

Aaron Evans finished 2nd in the 800m at the SEC Championships with a time of 1:47.00 which breaks the Bermuda National Record held by Steve Burgess and the University of Georgia record which has been in existence for 25 years. Bermuda Track and Field Association President Donna Watson said, “I spoke with Evans’ dad after the race and he said Evans is still not happy as he feels he could have won the race”.

Onion Series Multi Age Meet

Meanwhile the Bermuda Track and Field Association held another Onion Series Multi Age Meet at the National Sports Centre.

Anasia Barclay won the Girls 10-11 200 Meter Dash with a time of 29.39, while Syriah Lottimore finished second in 30.26.

Lottimore returned to win the Girls 10-11 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:10.58, with Zahra Wilson finished second in 1:14.91.
