From Classic to Championship

Trott & Raynor share a Cart

Competing against each other in Cup Match was not enough, Eldon Raynor and Winston Trott are now battling each other on the golf course during this weeks, Bermuda Seniors Stroke Play Championship going on at the Riddell’s Bay Golf & Country Club.

Raynor played for St. George’s Cricket Club from 1958 – 1971, while Trott played for the Somerset Cricket Club from 1968 – 1983. Between the two of them they scored 579 runs in 34 innings, with Raynor’s highest knock of 59 beating Trott’s 32 not out.

The two of them grabbed a total of 57 wickets with Trott taking 36 of them, they are now playing together on the second day of the tournament and the same fire that they both displayed during their years in the Classic continued when Raynor Tee’d off and a spectator shouted, “Raynor you just hit Trott back over his head for six”.

Both players entered today encounter T8th after shooting first round 13-over pars 83.
