Bermuda have had success at the 32nd Annual Kitty Michael International Invitational Tournament at the Longboat Key Club and Resort in Sarasota Florida, Bermuda retained the Balandra Cup with a overall score of 770 forty-four strokes ahead of second place Lyford Cay.
The Bermuda team was led by team captain Ann Symonds also consist of Katrin Burnie, Tracy Nash, Katyna Rabain, Wendy Salvia, Patricia Morgan, Synda Perry, Kathy-Lloyd Hines, Paula Smith and Cindy Hardart.
Bermuda will go into the third and final round with a 2 stroke lead in the Gross Division over Southeast Florida for the Balandra Cup that they won last year, the second Day’s play was on the Harbourside Course (Red & Blue) that plays 5283 yards.
Member of the Bermuda Team also took home overall individual honors, with Symonds and Rabian winning Closest to the Pin on Tuesday, while Salvia and Burnie won it on the Final Day. Nash had the Longest Drive on Tuesday, while Lloyd-Hines had the Low Gross on Tuesday and Symonds shot the Low Gross on Wednesday.
The Individual Overall Low Putts - "The Canada Putting Award" went to Gayle Tallardy (Ocean Reef) - Tue 31 - Wed - 31 - Thur - 30 = 92, the Individual Overall Low Gross - "Kitty Michael Founders Trophy" went to Carole Ratcliffe (Southeast Florida) - Tue 89 - Wed 84 - Thur 84 = 257. The Individual Overall Low Net - "Maggie Cassella Trophy" went to Cathy Carter (Greater Toromto) - Tue 76 - Wed 67 - Thur 69 = 212, with Bermuda winning the Team Low Gross "Balandra Cup" - Bermuda - Tue(261) Wed(259) Thur(250) = 770 and the Team Low Net "Bermuda Bowl" winners was Greater Toronto - Tue(231) Wed (213) Thur(222) = 666, Bermuda finished seven stroke back in third place in Net.
