Riding for the Subaru-Gary Fisher Elite Road Team Geri Mewett finished 12 in the Downtown Sanford Criterium.
Extremely hot temperatures in the 90's made for hard racing, but nonetheless the Sanford race is quickly becoming one of the better events in the Carolinas.
Early in the race saw no one attacking, the heat seemed to really prevent riders from getting away, during the 60 minute long Pro 1/2 race.
