With the release of the Island Soccer League (ISL) Schedule it now appears to be a conflict of games scheduled for the National Sports Center with the Bermuda Hogges.
The ISL Schedule dates were set in late 2009 and approved and with the dates that have been released by the USL it appears to have created a problem.
The Bermuda Football Association have taken on the responsibility of the running of the Hogges although the owners remain Shuan Goater, Kyle Lightbourne and Paul Scope.
It is not known if or when the Association will address the issue concerning scheduling with both the Stadium and the ISL as the Hogges do not have priority because they are not the National Team therefore changes will have to be made.
David Bascome the ISL Commissioner said, “Our dates were put in and confirmed so I am not sure what the Hogges will do, I will be contacting the BFA and the USL to address this matter as I don’t want the ISL players to get confused”.
“Our schedule has now been released and we are moving forward with our program starting with the draft tonight at the Grotto Bay Hotel”, concluded Commissioner Bascome.
The conflicting dates are May 28th when the ISL have the Knights vs. Storm and Apex vs. Titans and the Hogges are due to play Reading, and then on May 30th the ISL games will see the Union vs. Royal and the Kings vs. Arsenal, while the Hogges are due to play Reading again. On June 4th the ISL games will see the Knights vs. Apex and then the Titans vs. Storm with the Hogges due to play Ocean City and on July 18th which is the ISL All-Star Weekend the Hogges are scheduled to play Northern Virginia.
