At the BFA Field, the Devonshire Cougars defeated the St. George’s Colts 3 – 1. After a scoreless 35 minute first half, Cougars took the lead in the 41st minute when Leshun Simmon gave them the lead, Simmon doubled the lead five minutes later and when Jasekani Furbert-Wade scored for Cougars in the 62nd minute it all but ended the match as a contest.
PDL Semi-Finals Announced
The Bermuda Football Association has announced the Semi-Final fixtures for the Premier Development League Martonmere Cup.
Although there are some that want the public to believe everything about the league is negative, the results have seen four teams reach the Semi-Finals of the PDL Martonmere Cup competition comprising of Devonshire Cougars, Boulevard Blazers, Young Men’s Social Club and the Dandy Town Hornets.
A double header will be played at the Bermuda Football Association field featuring Dandy Town Hornets and Young Men’s Social Club in the first game, while the Devonshire Cougars and Boulevard Blazers will meet in the second match this coming Saturday, April 11th.
The winners of their game will book themselves to the finals of the competition for Saturday, April 17th, at the BFA field, however a decision regarding the final will be made if Devonshire Cougars defeat the Boulevard Blazers as they are scheduled to play the FA Cup Final on April 18th.
Day 4 - Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s
Today was the fourth day of the Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s (BBFS) Easter Camp presently underway at the BAA Field.
BBFS CEO Calvin Blankendal said, “Today was the BBFS 'Fun Day'. The players (girls and U15's) were afforded the opportunity to play the coaches. In the morning the players worked on improving their passing, control, heading, dribbling, various technical drills and small sided games”.
Andrew Griffith CFO of BAS gave a presentation on 'Money management', with the U6's having the pleasure of being visited by the Bermuda Police Service and was given a full tour of the BPS vehicle.
Blankendal concluded, “The Goalkeepers continued their training with Coach Raymond Glasford the PHC Zebras goalkeeper and volunteer trainee Omar Turner from BAA learning about the small sided games.
