Today was the third day of the Bermuda Brazilian Football School’s (BBFS) Easter Camp presently underway at the BAA Field.
BBFS CEO Calvin Blankendal said, “The camp was opened this morning by Pastor Milton Burgess, who visits inmates at the Westgate Correctional Facility. Pastor Burgess addressed the players about being a good citizen, walking away from a potential fight and to always respect each other”.
“Next was a lesson about Life skills”, continued Blankendal. “Coach Kenny Thompson facilitated a very informative presentation on 'Maintaining a Healthy Diet and Fitness regime' the 'Chelsea Way'.
The day continued with an Exhibition match as a BBFS Camp Select hosted Somerset Trojans Under 11's during the lunch break, the Trojans will be traveling to England in August. The match was very entertaining and the BBFS Camp select, narrowly overcame a spirited Trojans team 5 - 4.
Blankendal continued, “The Under 7's had the pleasure of being visited by Bermuda Police Service Constable Stephen Paynter and Inspector Jerome Laws. The Under 7’s where able to ask Constable Paynter questions and touch his Police bike, they were even tested on their speed via a radar gun, while Inspector Law's answered many questions regarding prison and the Bermuda Police Service”.
Blankendal concluded, “The Goalkeepers continued their training with Coach Raymond Glasford the PHC Zebras goalkeeper and volunteer trainee Omar Turner from BAA with an advanced GK session, while all other players worked on improving their fitness, passing, small sided games dribbling and various technical drills”.
