Douglas & Smith Updates

Eulannae Douglas Places 2nd & 3rd at Meet

Representing SO Central Arizona Douglas had a second and third place finish at the ACCAC Shoenhair Track & Field Meet at the Paradise Valley Community College.

Douglas finished second in the Women’s 100 Meter Dash clocking a time of 12.37, Douglas finished behind her school mate Magen DelPino who finished first in a time of 11.82, while Sharonte Marshall finished third in 12.48.

Douglas then finished third in the Women’s 200 Meter Dash, this time finishing behind both Delpino and Marshall. Douglas was clocked across the line in a time of 25.75

Chayce Smith - named Division II All-American

Thirteen student-athletes from Saint Augustine’s College including Smith were named Division II All-Americans following their performances at the 2010 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., this recently.

The All-Americans on the men’s side are Antonio Abney, Richard Boone, Jason Boyd, Christopher Copeland, Orolando Duffus, Brandon Quarles, Josh Scott and Smith. The women All-Americans are Kirsten Fields, Sheena Johns, Kyra Mobley, Barbara Pierre and Angelique Smith.

Four Saint Augustine’s College athletes were All-Americans in three events. They were Abney, Scott, Pierre and Smith. All-Americans in two events include Boyd, Duffus and Quarles.

The individuals will receive awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). An All-American must have finished in the top eight of his or her respective event.
