Roanne from France took the lead in the EuroChallenge quarterfinal series over Sullivan Phillips and his APOEL teammates.
The French team claimed a comprehensive 89 – 67 win in the opening game of the series at home. Ralph Mims scored 19 points and had 7 assists to lead the hosts.
The game was pretty much over as a contest in the first half. Roanne took over and controlled the tempo in the first part of the encounter. Lewis and David Noel gave the hosts a 19 - 13 lead at the first intermission. Roanne consolidated the lead in the second period as they led 40 - 25 at the break.
Phillips played 27 minutes, going 2 for 5 from the field that included one for one from behind the three point line, Phillips also went 1 for 2 from the free throw line for his six points.
Phillips grabbed two rebounds, he had four assist, three steals and two blocked shots.
