Bermuda Heading to Cayman

IslandStats.com
Bermuda Rugby Union President Michael Montgomery has told www.islandstats.com, that the Bermuda National teams will be embarking on a tour from April 29th to May 3rd, to compete against Cayman Islands.

“We will be chartering an airplane for taking the various squads direct from Bermuda to Cayman and return”, said Montgomery.

“The Senior match is being recognized by the International Rugby Board as a full International match, with “caps” being awarded to the players. We are also taking our representative sides at Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16 age levels”, continued Montgomery.

Montgomery continued, “We have named a strong training squad of possible players to travel, as this will be a tough match against a quality opponent. The game will count towards Bermuda’s IRB World Ranking status. Currently Bermuda is ranked 57th place out of 95 ranked countries”. (source: http://www.irb.com/rankings/full.html)

The Bermuda Junior sections are the current holders of the Conyers Cup (sponsored by CD&P) which was won last year against Cayman on Bermuda soil.

“There are one way and return tickets available for anyone wishing to travel with the party or looking to go to Cayman Islands on vacation for that period of time. Any interested parties should contact: Mike Montgomery – mikem@colonial.bm for further details”, concluded Montgomery.
