This weekend the Bermuda Dressage Group will be holding a Combined Training competition at the National Equestrian Center at Vesey Street in Devonshire.
The competition starts on Saturday March 13th at 8am with riders competing in dressage. Riders will perform a test of specific movement which will judged by Nicky Vogel from Virginia. This phase of the combined training tests riders’ control of their horse or pony.
The second day of competition will be the jumping phase with riders accumulating faults for failing to jump an obstacle, knocking an obstacle down or completing the course outside of the prescribed time allowed.
Riders will be awarded prizes for their placing in individual classes and also for their placing in combined dressage and jumping classes. The goal for the combined competition is to receive the highest dressage score with the lowest number of penalties in the jumping phase.
This competition sees children and adults as well as male and female riders competing against each other for the best score.
